Volunteering
THANKS FOR YOUR INTEREST IN VOLUNTEERING AT HSTB!
We are very lucky here at HSTB to have wonderful volunteers who help in the shelter everyday. We are also lucky enough to recieve about 100 volunteer applications every month! In order to start as many new volunteers as possible and have volunteers help us where needed, you would need to take the following steps in order to volunteer:
1) Attend a Volunteer Information Session. Volunteer Information Sessions are held the last three Saturdays of every month from 10am to 11:30am. You do not need to fill out any paperwork prior and do not need to RSVP. In this session we will discuss what volunteer opportunities are available, what HSTB's policies are, and have you
2) After attending a VIS you will know what areas of interest to mark on your application that day. The Volunteer Coordinator will then review your application and areas of interest. If your availability and sometimes experience match our needs you will be contacted for a training.
*HSTB would love to start everyone who is interested in volunteering, but that is not always possible. If you we are not able to start you as a volunteer, please contact us again in the future as our needs always change*
3) Once started as a volunteer you will be trained in the area that you have chosen, and a schedule will be worked out with the Volunteer Coordinator.
