Spay/Neuter
Nearly 22,500 animals were euthanized in Hillsborough County in 2008 (16,200 cats and 6,300 dogs). The suffering and sorrow associated with pet overpopulation is overwhelming. HSTB believes the most effective way to reduce pet overpopulation is to reduce the number of unwanted litters being born.
Our Spay/Neuter Clinic opened for the community in Spring 2000. Through December 2009, more than 63,000 dogs and cats have been sterilized. Our goal is to offer high quality, high volume sterilizations at low cost to members of the community. We are able to do this through the modest fees we charge and the generosity of the many HSTB donors who support this program. Your pet's safety is our #1 concern. We will not perform surgery on any pet if our veterinarians think there could be a problem and we never re-use syringes or needles.
To make an appointment, please call (813)870-3304 Monday thru Friday between 9:00am and 4:00pm. No one is availabe to take calls between 12 noon and 1:00pm each day.
