Spay/Neuter
Nearly 22,500 animals were euthanized in Hillsborough County in 2008 (16,200 cats and 6,300 dogs). The suffering and sorrow associated with pet overpopulation is overwhelming. HSTB believes the most effective way to reduce pet overpopulation is to reduce the number of unwanted litters being born.
Our Spay/Neuter Clinic opened in Spring 2000. Through December 2008, more than 53,872 owned dogs and cats have been sterilized. Our goal is to offer high quality, high volume sterilizations at low cost. We are able to do this through the modest fees we charge and the generosity of the many HSTB donors who support this program. Your pet's safety is our #1 concern. We will not perform surgery on any pet if our veterinarians think there could be a problem and we never re-use syringes or needles.
To make an appointment, please call (813) 870-3304 between 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. Due to the high volume of calls, the spay/neuter clinic is no longer taking messages. To make an appointment, press 5 and speak to a receptionist. Thank you for your patience.
