Cathy started with HSTB as a volunteer in 2004 and was thrilled to become a full time employee in 2005. This was the perfect opportunity to combine her love for animals and passion in creating special events. Growing up Cathy was constantly getting in trouble because she brought every stray animal she found home - needless to say there was a full house. Cathy was born in Lima, Peru, grew up in Miami Beach and eventually settled in Tampa several years after graduating from the University of Tampa with her Bachelor of Arts. Cathy is heavily involved in the community and is an active member of the South Tampa Chamber of Commerce, Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce, The University of Tampa National Alumni Association Board of Directors, Outback Bowl Hospitality/Events Committee and S.T.Y.L.E. (South Tampa Young Leaders and Executives). Every opportunity Cathy gets to spread the mission of HSTB in the community she is there. She shares her home with her adopted Jack Russell Terrier, Bailey, and her recently adopted Italian Greyhound mix, Madison.
